This is a great question. Many people including me are still doing our best to give a good answer. I like to think about modern day art. Why is that valuable? To us that seems like a logical question. Why is the Mona Lisa valuable? Maybe because it is the work of one of the greatest artists to ever live! To us in this day and age there is no question of why it’s valuable.
In the digital age this will likely be how artists express themselves in the future. Many people say how they could just print up the digital picture and have the same thing. You could also do this with the Mona Lisa or any other masterpiece.
Is it the same though?
The obvious answer to the question is no. To have an original work of art hanging in your hallway or gallery is much different than having a photocopy.
I know this is difficult to comprehend (especially for me) how this will be seen in the future, but you can best bet the ones who could see the value will be the ones to prosper.
The primary reason why an NFT is valuable is because there is only 1. You can copy them all day just like you can copy a painting perfectly, but it isn’t the same as owning THE original.
